PubPol 255S: Intro To Cyber Policy Capstone

Note: this is a personal project and therefore is not a representation of the views of the Sanford School of Public Policy

This website is my capstone project for Professor Hoffman’s PubPol 255S: Intro to Cyber Policy class at Duke University.

This topic is motivated by my interest in finance and the financial markets as it intersects with the rapid development of AI, a topic of great interest for cyber policy experts today.

Navigating the site, users will find a high-level primer on the past, present, and future use of AI in the financial sector under the tab: “AI in Finance: Primer.”

As the financial sector encompasses a broad range of businesses with different functions, I have divided the sector into four categories: payments, insurance, asset management, and financial intermediation (banking).

The implications of the expanding use of AI in these four categories is explored under the tab “Risks and Challenges.”

The “Policy Recommendations” tab contains the problem statement and my policy recommendations addressing these risks and challenges, as well as counterarguments to these recommendations.

Additional information such as works consulted can be found under the “More” tab.
